My Sweet Dad

My dad passed away on January 2nd. Since his passing I have been overwhelmed with feelings of gratitude to have been born to Don and Dian Schliesman. Thank you God that I was born to parents who knew what You require, to do justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with God.

Knitted Throw

I keep coming across more things mom made. She made this throw for me when she found out we were moving to a new place. She asked me about colors and made something that drew in the earthtones that our house is mostly decorated in. I keep this on the couch in my Florida room.

A quilt made from old clothes, a scrappy quilt and an afghan knitted from leftover yarn. More mom stuff.

Blankets and Quilts

These are more of Mom's blankets my sister Candy has. The first two are flannel blankets that mom made for Candy's son Bryce and and daughter Grace. the second one is a baby quilt mom made for Grace. And the fourth one is a Double Wedding Ring Quilt that mom made for Candy and Craig's wedding.

Another of Mom's quilts, also known as Grandmother's Flower Bed,  which makes me smile. My daughter Mary has this quilt on her bed.

Storm at Sea Quilt

This is the quilt Mom gave me while I was in Ohio. It's called the Storm at Sea. You can see the Heart in red at the bottom right. I love this quilt and have been sleeping with it every night, remembering Mom as I drift off.

Thanks Mom!

Stuff Mom Made

We put all the stuff together that we found in the house that Mom made. She made much more than this of course, but she gave most of it away. That was Mom.

This is the quilt that was on the bed that I slept in while I was there.

Crocheted afghan, rose colored yarn, with a rose in the center.

Patchwork quilt. I think this is made from old clothes.

Mom

These are the last videos of my mom, that my daughter Mary took when she came up to visit her a few weeks ago. Mom passed away on November 25 and I will always miss her.
