Anna's Retro Afghan

I'm pretty far behind on my blog, so now I'm trying to catch up and to remember to take pictures of things as I make them. This is an afghan I made for Anna last year for her new house. It's made using Vanna's Choice Yarn in various colors, with a white trim and a vintage crochet pattern I found online.

Skye's Black & White Afghan

I finished this black n white afghan for Skye's newly redecorated room. She chose the pattern and the yarn.

I'm super happy with how it turned out and I think Skye is too!

Christmas Afghan

Christmas Afghan. Used Lion Brand Homespun Yarn in Christmas Colors. Here is the Free Pattern. I used the recommended colors, but I made it a little bigger by buying one more skein for each color (so 3 skeins per color instead of 2). You use a huge crochet hook - an S. It is a nice big thick afghan.

Knitted Throw

I keep coming across more things mom made. She made this throw for me when she found out we were moving to a new place. She asked me about colors and made something that drew in the earthtones that our house is mostly decorated in. I keep this on the couch in my Florida room.

Skye's Afghan & Pillow

I also crocheted these for my granddaughter, Skye, who's room is pink and purple. I got the afghan pattern from one of those tear off sheets in the yarn section of the craft store. I really like the pattern and the color combination, although I wish I hadn't done the beige around the edges and just stayed with pink and purple.

Mary's Christmas Afghan

I crocheted this one for Mary for Christmas '06. I got the pattern at www.freepatterns.com. It's called Holiday Delight Afghan.

Skull & Crossbones

This is the afghan I made for Anna. I pretty much made up the design. The black background is crocheted straight across, in double-crochet rows. Then I made the skull and crossbones and sewed it on top. And on top of that is the eyes, nose and the cracks in the skull. It wasn't too hard, but took a long time, since I was working full time and just worked on it on weekends.

Starry Night

I made this one for Leslee. I liked the name of it. It was crocheted with different shades of blue and white worsted yarn, to resemble stars.

The Caterpillar Afghan

and the little angel asleep under it...

crocheted with medium worsted acrylic yarn. I found the pattern by asking on a crochet board and someone emailed it to me. Gotta love that!

This is another pattern I got from www.freepatterns.com. It's called Friendly Critter Afghan. I think I changed the colors a little bit to go along with the Very Hungry Caterpillar theme in Josiah's room.

Baby Afghan with Hood and Bear

This is a baby afghan and bear I crocheted for my new great-nephew Ezekiel Boldman.  The pattern for the blanket came from the inside of a yarn label. The pattern for the bear came from a Crochet Calendar.
