This is my latest brainwave. I have been embroidering birthday cards. It seems a little bit silly, since most people just throw them out, but I'm hoping maybe they will use them for book marks or something. :)

"Beret"
This was supposed to be a winter beret, that I made for a friend of mine. I swear I followed the pattern, bought the right weight of yarn, etc etc. But it turned out not to be a beret! That's what I get for not doing a swatch first. I hate doing swatches. :)

My friend likes the hat anyway, so I am going to send it to her the way it is. She's in Washington DC and wanted something warm and colorful, so at least it fulfills those requirements!
I got the pattern here. The yarn is Lion Brand Homespun, which is a chunky yarn that I love and have been using a lot. It comes in lots of colors. This color is Fiesta!

Hat, Mittens, Scarf for Kari
This is my model, Skye, wearing the scarf, hat & mittens I made for my sister, Kari. The yarn really changes more gradually than this picture makes it look in the scarf...

Pumpkin
A pumpkin I made for Halloween. There is a smaller one that looks exactly like this one. Only smaller. :)
Here is the pattern.
These hats were mostly made by me, except for the very cute pumpkin hat and the equally cute little pillbox hat in the back. All hats are for sale at Little Bird!
This is where I got the pattern.

My Two New Beautiful Reasons for Living...
Table Skirt for Cash Wrap
I also made a table skirt for the shop, from a piece of fabric from Ikea. It has a lot of birds on it and is in our colors. I thought it came out pretty good, seeing as how I was winging it. Sewing is not my strong suit.

Pinwheel Baby Afghan
I made this pink and white afghan for a friend of a friend. I really liked the pattern, so I gave it a shot, then the friend never got back to me about it, even though I called her several times. And it's been months now, so it's going in the shop! It's made using a tunisian crochet stitch, which I love doing. The result looks more like knitting.
